vata seasonal rituals for balance
on grounding, digestion, and creating warmth in ayurvedic transition
Autumn is beautiful — and unsettling.
Vata season — the time of air and ether in Ayurveda — calls for balancing rituals to calm wind, change, and dryness.
It’s the season of overthinking, of scattered energy, of cold hands and racing minds.
But also the season of soft blankets, ginger tea, and sacred slowing down.
To balance Vata, we don’t need to fix it —
we just need to offer the opposite.
Warmth. Stillness. Nourishment.
My Ayurvedic rituals look like:
- Oiling my skin before bed
- Cooked root veggies with ghee
- Evening journaling instead of scrolling
- Long exhales
- Doing less, and letting that be enough
try this:
Tonight, oil your feet with sesame oil.
Wrap them in warm socks.
Exhale slowly.
Remind your body: you are safe here.
